The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting rule (RRP Rule) requires firms that perform renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and preschools built before 1978 to have their firm certified by the EPA (or an EPA-authorized state), use certified renovators trained by EPA-approved training providers, and follow lead-safe work practices. (This is not a license for lead abatement, removal, encapsulation, or enclosure.)
